Bobby Portis delivers his best performance of the year for the Milwaukee Bucks with another double-double

At this rate, Portis might be getting his own individual section after every game. With Brook Lopez still sidelined with his back soreness, Portis has taken the reigns as a starter, and he has been just outright incredible. He continued his strong stretch of games with his best outing of the season in last night’s matchup between the Bucks and Pistons.

As previously mentioned, Portis knocked down a whopping six 3-pointers in the matchup, which is sensational by itself. Yet, it was an all-around efficient night for him as he shot 10-of-14 from the field to tally a season-high 28 points. He had practically everything dropping on the offensive end as the Fiserv Forum crowd erupted with cheer every single time he scored. Just phenomenal work by Portis on the offensive end to give the Bucks an added boost, especially with Khris Middleton and Grayson Allen both struggling to score as members of the starting five.

Portis would also notch his four-consecutive double-double as he pulled down 10 rebounds on the night, once again proving to be a massive factor on the glass. Along with scoring and rebounding, Portis brought his typical dose of energy to the floor as he was energized as ever for all 31 of his game minutes. It was undeniably his best all-around performance of the season, and the Bucks should undeniably take a moment to appreciate Portis, especially on this holiday. He did receive some high praise from his teammate following the game.

Without Lopez available, Portis has embraced the challenge of stepping into those shoes, and he has been fantastic thus far. He really came to life over the homestand and after his best game of the year, Portis should have no problem carrying things over as the Bucks hit the road.
