Milwaukee Bucks: Jordan Nwora

Can Jordan Nwora take advantage of another opportunity for the Milwaukee Bucks?

This isn’t so much about this game in particular (although against a team with the worst defensive rating over the last ten days or so, he will certainly have his chances to succeed), but for the upcoming stretch of games while Semi Ojeleye is out.

Jordan Nwora went from playing around 20 minutes a night to out of the rotation in the span of a few games. But due to an injury to Ojeleye, Nwora has another chance to prove that he can be a valuable rotation player for head coach Mike Budenholzer.

He had his chances early in the season with multiple starters and reserves out with injuries, but couldn’t capitalize on the opportunity at hand. Although many were closely keeping an eye on his defense and playmaking, it was Nwora’s scoring that let him down most.

In his first 14 games, the second-year pro averaged under nine points per game, shooting under 35 percent from 3 (on over four attempts per game) and a true shooting percentage right at 50 percent. It’s not terrible by any means for a reserve player, but for what he lacks in other areas of his game, that isn’t enough. Thus, he was put into the doghouse for a few games.

So, after playing under 10 minutes against the Los Angeles Lakers and then a pair of DNP-CD’s, Nwora has played over 40 minutes in his last two games combined. Perhaps the two games he sat out will help him clear his head and get back on track.

Nwora is someone who can add something that the Bucks don’t have off their bench in terms of a player who can create his own shot. However, he needs to start seeing those shots fall consistently after struggling to begin the season.
