Pat Connaughton must step up for Milwaukee Bucks in Semi Ojeleye’s absence

Pat Connaughton already has been a huge player for the Bucks this season. He has been the first reserve off the bench nightly, giving the Bucks great shooting, defense, rebounding, and so much more.  Connaughton will be thrust into an even bigger role without Ojeleye. We’ve seen him step up in larger roles before. During Milwaukee’s championship run last season, Connaughton came up huge for the Bucks in the playoffs following a season-ending injury to Donte DiVincenzo.

The team will need more of the same from Connaughton as they navigate the time that Ojeleye will be out. Connaughton’s contributions during last season’s playoffs have shown that he is most definitely capable of taking on a larger role in the rotation. The show that he was able to put on during the NBA Finals made him worth every penny of the contract that he received prior to last season. Hopefully Connaughton can do it again with the team shorthanded once more.

The Bucks will be missing Ojeleye as he tries to overcome another calf injury. It’s hard to find a player that can match the grit that players such as Ojeleye bring a team on a night-to-night basis. Yet. the Bucks can find in-house solutions to patch up the work without Ojeleye. and this stretch will give these players a chance to show what they bring to the table in an increased role.

Next. Rodney Hood’s importance just increased mightily for the Milwaukee Bucks. dark

In the meantime, we will have to wait to hear about updates on Ojeleye. The Bucks will need these players to produce when they’re given the opportunity over the next few weeks. Keep an eye on these three in tonight’s matchup with the Denver Nuggets.
