How is former Milwaukee Buck Bryn Forbes performing?

Although he didn’t play a ton down the stretch of the Bucks’ championship run, Bryn Forbes was huge in their sweep of the Heat in the first round. Everyone remembers the stat that Forbes had more total points in that series than Jimmy Butler, it was a fantastic performance.

It seemed clear that the Bucks likely wouldn’t bring Forbes back after he was phased out of the rotation in the playoffs because of his defensive liabilities (although I will commend him for his effort on that end). So, he went to a new-old team in the San Antonio Spurs!

Forbes spent the first four seasons of his career with the Spurs before coming to the Bucks for a season and then went right back to the Spurs in the offseason. Unfortunately for Forbes, his new team isn’t performing as well as Tucker’s.

The Spurs just snapped a six-game losing streak and sit 5-12 on the season. They did split the season series with the Bucks, however, so that’s a bonus for Forbes perhaps.

Forbes has seen his minutes fluctuate throughout the season but has played all 18 games and is averaging around 13 minutes a night. He is scoring around six points per game and shooting nearly 43 percent from three on around two and a half attempts per game.

However, his defense is still a problem, and Spurs fans are beginning to get frustrated. Hey, at least he has his championship ring! Unlike Tucker, it appears as though the Bucks have found a player to fill the Bryn Forbes role and then some.
