Milwaukee Bucks: Weighing Bleacher Report’s odd Pat Connaughton trade
By Dalton Sell
The final verdict in this proposed trade between the Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers
After everything he has done over the past year with the Bucks, they will not be trading away Connaughton anytime soon. This is a player that came up huge in the playoffs several different times en route to Milwaukee’s first title in over 50 years. Notably, he knocked down an impressive 15 triples in the 2021 NBA Finals, which was the second-most among the players for both sides. The Bucks do not win that title without his contributions over that run.
It would also make no sense for the team to trade Connaughton away as he is putting up new career highs in practically every category this season. Sure, his value is higher than it has ever been due to his fantastic start, but with all due respect, Bitazde is not the needle-moving move that it would take for the Bucks to even think about parting ways with Connaughton. He is simply too valuable to this franchise and has proven to be a winning player previously, and there would be understandable outrage if he were to be moved.
All in all, this deal makes little sense for the defending champions. Connaughton has become a key piece for this team due to his incredible versatility and production. Do not expect him to be on the move at any point this season, as the Bucks are undeniably glad to have the guard on their side on a nightly basis. Shoutout to Connaughton, who is on a tear this season as the Bucks aim to defend their crown against the league. He will play a factor in any success they have this season.
Keep an eye on Connaughton and the Milwaukee Bucks as the NBA season goes on.
