A trade that helps the Milwaukee Bucks land Robin Lopez

With one Lopez injured, the Bucks could look to fill the void by bringing in another, Brook’s twin brother, Robin Lopez. Fans will remember that Lopez spent the 2019-20 season in Milwaukee as he played a backup role behind his brother. Due to his familiarity with the player, coaches, and the system, the Bucks could think about bringing him back to Milwaukee to bulk up their size in the currently depleted frontcourt.

Given how scarcely Lopez has played for the youth-driven Orlando Magic this year, it likely would not take much to get him in a trade. The Bucks could pitch a package including two expiring deals in Hood and Ojeleye, giving the Magic flexibility while not compromising their youth. This package would allow the financially limited Bucks to absorb Lopez’s $5 million salary for the season and fill a position of need.

The Bucks could use a 7-foot-1, 281lb center right about now. Lopez would bring in another great rebounder that can also do a solid job of protecting the paint. This team has dearly missed Brook’s interior defense this season, and although Robin is not on that level defensively, he could provide some serviceable rim protection due to his hulking stature. Offensively, the Bucks tried to turn the big man into an outside shooter during his first stint with the team, and he did have a career-high 35 3-point makes that season. This would be a low-risk move to bring back a familiar face.
