Milwaukee Bucks: 2022 New Year’s resolution for Javonte Smart – Continue to develop and stay ready

Due to some early issues at the point guard position, Javonte Smart saw prominent playing time shortly after signing with the Bucks on a two-way deal this season. The 22-year-old showed off potential early on with strong signs of scoring and facilitating, but his role has lessened over the past few weeks due to the Bucks getting healthier. Playing behind a solid one-two punch in the backcourt, Smart will not see much time in the rotation as the third-string point guard. All Smart can do for now is continue to develop in his first NBA stint and await his next opportunity. Given the stature of the two other point guards he is playing alongside in Milwaukee, he could certainly learn a thing or two from them. He should take advantage of the opportunity as he looks to carve out a role for himself in this league.

Milwaukee Bucks: 2022 New Year’s resolution for Sandro Mamukelashvili – Continue to play high-level basketball when given the chance

Much like Smart, fellow rookie Sandro Mamukelashvili was a staple in the rotation early on in the season due to injuries and illnesses to others. While his playing time has fizzled since, the second round pick showed glimpses of untapped potential when he played big minutes. Mamukelashvii, a 6-foot-11 forward, is an incredibly interesting player on the offensive end because not only can he battle down low, but he has a 3-point shot in his arsenal as he is shooting 11-of-27 (40.7 percent) on the season. His pristine passing ability is also intriguing, given his size. The big man has work to do on the defensive end yet as he has struggled to stay on the floor at times, but in the big picture, he has been impressive. Mamukelashvili will not see prominent minutes for a healthy Bucks team, but it is good to know that they may have something special waiting on the bench in him.
