Updated Milwaukee Bucks’ trade deadline targets – Mike Muscala

If the Bucks are unavailable to acquire Bamba, someone like Mike Muscala would be a solid option to pivot to in their quest to add more frontcourt depth.

The 30-year-old veteran is having one of his best offensive seasons by averaging 8.2 points while shooting 46.5 percent from the floor and 44.1 percent from three. The 3-point percentage is a new career-high for Muscala, and it does not come in a small sample size as he is heaving 3.8 attempts per game this year. The dynamic outside shooting that Muscala provides at the center position is a perfect match for what the Bucks aim to target with all their big men, meaning he would fit like a glove in this system. Although he would not provide much help defensively, adding a 6-foot-10 big man that can space the floor like Muscala is desirable enough on its own.

The OKC Thunder, where Muscala currently plays, have shown over the past few years that they are typically open for business when it comes to trading away their veteran players. Muscala is in that category at 30-years-old and given his affordable $3.5 million annual salary, his great season to this point should have opposing teams calling. Considering their current lack of frontcourt depth and the uncertainty surrounding Lopez’s return this season, the Bucks should be among the bunch looking to bring Muscala in.
