The verdict in The Athletic’s proposed Larry Nance Jr. trade for Milwaukee Bucks

Nance would be an ideal target for the Bucks. Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer noted in his latest reporting that the defending champs are indeed looking to add some size before the deadline, and while Nance was not among the players he mentioned as possible trade candidates, he would fit the billing perfectly. If the Blazers are willing to accept this package, it should be a no-brainer for the Bucks.

The forward would bring some much-needed versatile defense off the bench, giving Budenholzer plenty of options when piecing together lineups with Nance. Having a piece like that will be pivotal once the postseason rolls around, particularly if the Bucks do not get Lopez back. Lopez’s health is the determining factor here, and Fischer’s reporting suggests that the front office may be looking to bring in some outside size. In that case, they should have just kept DeMarcus Cousins, but that is another story for another time.

The Blazers are certainly a team that could be an interesting trade partner for the Bucks leading up to the deadline. In addition to Nance, the defensive-minded Covington could also make a huge difference and provide some reinforcement in the frontcourt. While it may be a stretch that the Bucks could land either of them, it would not be surprising to see them kick the tires on the pair.
