Dream trade deadline/buyout scenario No. 3 – The Milwaukee Bucks land guard Goran Dragić in a buyout or trade for Dennis Schröder to bolster the bench

There has been controversy surrounding George Hill and the decision to bring him back as the backup point guard this season. Some believe the veteran guard has played fine, while others are ready to jump ship and search the market for upgrades. Both sides have a valid argument, but there is no denying that Hill is having one of the least productive seasons of his career, and the Milwaukee Bucks would be wise to at least kick the tires on any potential replacements.

If they do entertain the idea of upgrading, one potential player that has surfaced time and time again in hypotheticals is Dennis Schröder, currently a member of the Boston Celtics. The former Sixth Man of the Year finalist is having a quality season by averaging 14.4 points and 4.3 assists per game, both of which could be useful to Milwaukee as they rank 29th in both bench points and assists per contest. This team needs a sparkplug off the bench, and Schröder fits the billing. He is also on the books for just $5.9 million this season, making him extremely affordable in any trade, even for the cash-strapped Bucks.

If a Schröder trade does not materialize, adding Goran Dragić could be an exciting move. After being traded to the Toronto Raptors this past offseason, the guard has played just five games with the franchise and remains away from the team as he will likely be moved by the deadline. While it will be challenging for the Raptors to find a taker for Dragić’s $19.4 million salary this season, he could potentially hit the buyout market, which would open the door for the Bucks to make a pitch. Like Schröder, Dragić would provide more scoring and facilitating off the bench to help this unit.
