Milwaukee Bucks’ buyout target No. 3 – Goran Dragić
This idea has caused some controversy among Bucks fans, as Goran Dragić has become a rival to the Bucks over the past several years. Yet, The Athletic’s Fred Katz (subscription required) recently noted that Milwaukee could be among the favorites to get Dragić if he is bought out following the trade deadline.
Like Wall, Dragić would provide an upgrade over Hill off the bench with his scoring and facilitating. Prior to this season, the former Most Improved Player averaged 14.9 points on .437/.369/.793 shooting splits, 3.3 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 27.5 minutes per game over the past two years with the Miami Heat. While there are some questions as to whether he can still perform at such a level, given that he has only played in five games this season, Dragić would be a solid fit.
It remains to be seen what happens to Dragić at the deadline. As previously mentioned, he has played just five games with the Toronto Raptors this season as the two sides agreed that they would look for a new destination, but his hefty salary has made that quite challenging. If he is bought out, rumors have been swirling that Dragić will bolt to the Dallas Mavericks to team up with his friend Luka Dončić, but who knows at this point.
If he does become available, the Bucks could at least kick the tires on the point guard.
