3 Milwaukee Bucks that need to turn things around post-All Star break
As you can imagine, one of the reasons that the Milwaukee Bucks haven’t really been able to string together a bunch of wins is that they’ve had a few key guys underperform or just be incredibly inconsistent (in addition to the injuries and illnesses).
Still, they’re only a couple of games out of first in the East as we enter the home stretch. Getting a nice week or so of rest after a tough first 60 games will be great for these guys, even if one of them doesn’t get a true week off.
Khris Middleton will need to turn things around post-All Star break for the Milwaukee Bucks
If we’re being honest, Khris Middleton had already turned his season around for the most part before hitting another rough patch just before the break, but I’ll put him here because of the general inconsistency he’s had this season.
He started the year really, really rough but slowly pulled himself out of that slump, highlighted by a 32-game where he shot 40 percent from 3 on over six attempts per game and 59.4 percent true shooting.
Sure, we’ve seen Middleton be better than that but it was a great sign that he was battling through his fatigue after a very short offseason.
That cold spell before the break saw him shoot 20 percent on eight attempts per game from 3 in his final five games before the break and a 45.7 percent effective field goal rate. Perhaps that was the fatigue setting in from having played a bunch of regular season games in a row leading up to that.
He won’t see a ton of minutes in the All-Star game (I hope) so he’ll be able to kick back and take it easy after that. I don’t need to tell you, reader, about how important Middleton is to the Bucks’ success and he’s been pretty solid for most of the season, but the lows have been very low this year.
