Giannis Antetokounmpo propelled the Milwaukee Bucks to victory with another MVP caliber performance

Giannis Antetokounmpo has been on a tear following the All-Star break, and the Greek Freak kept that consistent with yet another strong performance for the Milwaukee Bucks last night.

Scoring 39 points on 13-of-19 (68.4 percent) shooting, Antetokounmpo was in attack mode from beginning to end, most noticeably with his 3-point shooting. The two-time MVP knocked down all four of his attempts from long distance last night, including a deep heave to end the first half that helped extend Milwaukee’s lead. Antetokounmpo’s four 3-point makes tied a season-high, and it was eye-catching to see him not only shoot them with confidence, but make them with it as well. Along with his scoring and shooting, Antetokounmpo handed out seven assists, as previously said. Elsewhere, the 27-year-old tallied seven rebounds, three steals, and one emphatic blocked shot to cement his all-around stellar night.

The craziest part of it all? Antetokounmpo played less than 28 minutes to reach these numbers.

This outstanding performance should give Antetokounmpo a boost in the ongoing NBA MVP race, where he is currently fighting alongside Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid for the honors. It seems like a single game could change the front-runner at this point, which speaks to the excellence this group has put on display nightly this season. Following this stellar showing, Antetokounmpo may have bolstered his stock with the regular season beginning to wind down.
