3 takeaways from Milwaukee Bucks’ thrilling OT win versus Brooklyn Nets

Giannis Antetokounmpo made team history as he clocked in an unforgettable performance for the Milwaukee Bucks
Excluding turnovers, Giannis Antetokounmpo had a game for the ages, as it felt like he carried the Bucks all night against the Nets.
Offensively, the Greek Freak was virtually unstoppable from start to finish as he scored 44 points on 14-of-21 (66.7 percent) shooting. No matter how many defenders the Nets threw his way, the freight train that is Antetokounmpo consistently fought his way to the basket for two points right at the hoop. When the Nets did manage to stop him, it often resulted in a trip to the line, where he was efficient by shooting 15-of-19 (78.9 percent), which included two clutch makes in OT. Sticking with the clutch topic, that step-back 3-pointer to force OT by Antetokounmpo helped him officially surpass a franchise legend in Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the Bucks’ all-time scoring list.
Talk about a shot to become the team’s all-time scoring leader.
While his scoring rightfully earned the most praise, it was another well-rounded performance for Antetokounmpo with 14 rebounds, six assists, and a steal. Unsurprisingly, the Greek Freak was a +12 for the game as well, which marked the highest for either team. Whether it was his scoring, passing, rebounding, defense, or whatever else, Antetokounmpo did some of everything to help the Bucks secure this victory as he put on yet another dominant display.
This marked the second consecutive 40 point outing in a win for Antetokounmpo, which should certainly help his late push for the NBA MVP award this season. Time will tell how things unfold there, but after last night, his stock is going up.
The Bucks will be right back in action tonight against the LA Clippers and be sure to catch the action at 7:00 p.m. CST on Bally Sports Wisconsin.
