3 takeaways from the Milwaukee Bucks’ ugly loss to Dallas Mavericks

Khris Middleton clocked in arguably his worst game of the 2021-22 season for the Milwaukee Bucks as his recent wave of inconsistency continued
It has been a turbulent ride for Khris Middleton lately as he has had some trouble finding a groove down the stretch, and his performance in yesterday’s game did not help him find any stability.
Middleton failed to find a groove throughout his 37 minutes as he tallied just 11 points on an ugly 3-of-14 shooting, including 0-of-4 from downtown. Though the forward was creating some solid looks that he would normally knock down, he just simply could not buy a bucket consistently from start to finish in this one. Unable to find a groove, a large portion of his scoring production came at the free throw line, where he knocked down five shots in six attempts.
While Middleton’s scoring contributions were minimal, he did make a positive impact elsewhere by dishing out nine assists, one of his highest totals of the season. His facilitating was the sole saving grace of Middleton’s day, as he also tallied three turnovers and five personal fouls in what was just an overall frustrating game from start to finish, especially in a brutal loss.
The Milwaukee Bucks will need Middleton to find a rhythm in the final four regular season games before the postseason arrives. His last five games have been the definition of inconsistent, and it would be problematic for this to carry on into the playoffs. Hopefully he can put this ugly game on Sunday in the rearview and attempt to get back on the right track quickly.
Middleton will have the opportunity to do so when the Milwaukee Bucks take the court again on Tuesday against the rivaling Chicago Bulls. Be sure to catch the action at 7:00 p.m. CST on ESPN.
