5 best moments from the Milwaukee Bucks 2021-22 regular season
Giannis Antetokounmp saves the day (again) with (another) dominant performance and clutch bucket against the Brooklyn Nets
It would be pretty hard to top a 40-point game with a game-saving block, right? Not if you’re Giannis Antetokounmpo! He’ll just top it the very next game.
Just as they were against the Sixers, the Milwaukee Bucks trailed for a majority of the games, with the Brooklyn Nets leading by as many as 11 points. Middleton and Holiday struggled to score but still chipped in 35 points, 17 rebounds, eight assists, and eight steals, once again showing their all-around abilities.
Antetokounmpo, though, was the leader once again with 44 points, 14 rebounds, six assists, and a steal. He had 39 points with around 30 seconds left and was three points away from breaking the franchise’s all-time scoring record.
There are so many things that make this a spectacular moment. He broke the scoring record with the shot, it was a stepback 3, he had missed a similar shot just prior, and oh right, he tied the game!
This shot is the perfect way to summarize Giannis’ career. It would have been unfathomable to think about him hitting a stepback 3 to tie a game even a couple of years ago, but he’s continuously worked on his game and his shot to get it to the point where he’s comfortable taking this shot, even after he missed not that long before this.
He also hit two clutch free throws in overtime to give the Bucks the win over another one of their rivals in what was a fantastic stretch after the All-Star break where they beat a ton of very good teams en route to the playoffs.
There will surely be more memorable moments in the playoffs to come!
