3 most important role players for Milwaukee Bucks against Chicago Bulls – Bobby Portis

Any time Bobby Portis is on the floor for the Milwaukee Bucks, he is going to be important.

Portis can provide one thing that nobody else on the Bucks can, being the people’s champ. The ability of Portis to ignite Milwaukee’s fans is unmatched by anybody on the team.

Going back to last season’s Conference Finals series against Atlanta, fans began chanting Portis’ name after many of the hustle plays that Portis provides. If the crowd brings the same type of energy when Portis makes a huge play, the team may be able to ride on that.

Even though Portis has a constant motor, he may bring something even extra into this series. The Bulls drafted Portis and he may be looking to make the team regret trading him back in 2019.

In addition to the energy that Portis brings, his skill set will also be an important factor in this series. Due to his ability to knock down the three, the Bucks tend to have good spacing when Portis is in the game.

Being able to space the floor allows Giannis Antetokounmpo to attack the interior when he needs a bucket. When the lane isn’t open for Antetokounmpo, it also allows him to find Portis and other teammates on the perimeter for open looks. Two of the biggest things that Milwaukee has improved on in the last couple of years are perimeter shooting and good spacing, so Portis being able to stretch the defense by knocking down some threes will be huge.
