Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday stepped up for the Milwaukee Bucks to help seal a Game 3 win versus the Boston Celtics

After they both had hit-or-miss performances in Game 2, the Milwaukee Bucks needed their lead duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday to bounce back in a crucial Game 3. Though there were some struggles on display from the pair, they got the job done in the end, as it was the effort from this star-studded tandem that helped the Milwaukee Bucks earn the hard-fought win.

First off, Giannis Antetokounmpo was incredible on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he played with a purpose in the first half by scoring 20 points on 57.1 percent field goal shooting to carry the Bucks as no one else could buy a bucket. In the second half, Antetokounmpo kept the ball rolling as he scored 22 more points on 50 percent shooting, one of which was a clutch layup that gave the home team a lead with less than a minute to play. That goes without mentioning his effort on the defensive end, where Antetokounmpo notched two steals and two blocked shots for the matchup. In total, he finished with a herculean stat line of 42 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, and a pair of blocks and steals apiece. It was an outright dominant performance from the Greek Freak, who had his best game of the series without question.

Meanwhile, it was a tougher afternoon for Jrue Holiday. The guard struggled offensively as he shot a grueling 11-of-30 (36.7 percent), which included 3-of-10 (30 percent) from three, for the game. Despite the ugly shooting performance, Holiday made the biggest shot of the afternoon as he hit a smooth turnaround with 11.2 seconds to go to put the Milwaukee Bucks up by three points, which gave him 25 points and ultimately won them the game. Holiday made up for his scoring struggles by hitting the clutch basket and playing some pestering defense, having notched three steals and a blocked shot. Even when he is struggling so mightily offensively, Holiday showed that he can still come up clutch for the Milwaukee Bucks in the end.

The Bucks will need their two stars to build off this significant Game 3 victory moving forward in what has been a tough matchup with the Boston Celtics.
