Grades from Milwaukee Bucks Game 6 loss to Boston Celtics: Celtics

Boston Celtics: A

Aside from a couple runs in the first and fourth quarters, Boston essentially controlled all of Game 6. Building leads early and then pushing them back up whenever the Bucks would get close, then Jayson Tatum seemingly making every shot he took in the fourth quarter made it a really tough, uphill battle for the Milwaukee Bucks. Had the Bucks not stolen Game 5 from the palm of Boston’s hand, Friday night’s loss could have ended Milwaukee’s season. Thankfully, that is not the case and the Bucks have a chance to advance on Sunday.

It will be a difficult task figuring out Jayson Tatum, Wesley Matthews and Jrue Holiday have been the most successful guarding him but the Milwaukee Bucks switched just about every screen Boston set in game 6 and it allowed Tatum to get whatever matchup he wanted. In the end, Jayson Tatum finished with 46 points on 17-for-32 shooting and 7-of-15 behind the 3-point line. Tatum added nine rebounds, four assists and did commit four turnovers.

Jaylen Brown played in the shadow of Tatum and had a solid game, 22 points, five rebounds and four assists. Marcus Smart was really the scoring x-factor of this game, Smart made five 3-point shots in this game, four of them in the first quarter.

Those three players for the Celtics totaled 89 of the total 108 points Boston scored.
