The LA Clippers could lure Jevon Carter away from the Milwaukee Bucks in NBA free agency

If Jevon Carter were to leave the Milwaukee Bucks, the LA Clippers could be a compelling option for him to consider in free agency.

Despite missing the playoffs this past season, the Clippers look like a team that will be a force to be reckoned with next season with Kawhi Leonard returning from an injury alongside a revamped supporting cast that now includes Paul George, Norman Powell, and Robert Covington, among an assortment of others. Yet, despite how good LA looks on paper, the one thing they should look to add is a backup point guard, as their depth at the position behind Reggie Jackson is rather scarce.

Carter would be a great backup point guard for the Clippers, largely due to the defense he brings to the table. The guard would instantly gel in that system that is loaded with other strong defenders, and thinking about lineups with Carter sharing the floor alongside others like Leonard, George, and Covington has to be nightmarish for opposing offenses. Carter’s stellar individual defense and his willingness to guard 94-feet would help him fit instantly alongside a quality group of players, and it would not be surprising to see them make a run at the 26-year-old in free agency. LA could offer him a prominent opportunity nightly, and, as previously mentioned, that could be the end goal for the soon-to-be free agent.
