Milwaukee Bucks free agent center target No. 2 – Mo Bamba

The 24-year-old has spent his entire four-year career with there Orlando Magic after being drafted sixth overall in 2018. He’s had a good run at a rebuilding Magic team however it’s likely he will be looking for a new challenge. And what better way to challenge yourself than joining a championship-contending team in the Milwaukee Bucks.

Bamba had a career year in virtually every field this past season. Averaging 25.7 minutes in 71 games, Bamba contributed 10.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.2 assists on average per game. He shot 48 percent from the field, a respectable 38.1 percent from three, and 78.1 percent from the foul line. He had 20 double-doubles which is an astounding five (yes five) times as many as his previous career-best.

At 24 years old, Bamba would add some youth to the roster which certainly wouldn’t be a bad thing, and given that the Magic now hold the first pick for this year’s draft, it’s likely Bamba will be out the door in Orlando in one way or another.

He can play on both sides of the ball, notching up a respectable 1.7 blocks this past season and I’d guess his rise in performances will continue over the next few years and he would be a great fit on this Milwaukee roster.

Bamba earned $7.5 million last season with the Magic and potentially would want a bit more than that on his next team. However, if he’s given an opportunity to play on a championship team as opposed to a lottery team, he’d possibly accept a lesser amount and that’s the Bucks’ opportunity to swoop in.

It’ll certainly be worth keeping an eye on this situation and see if the Bucks are willing to take a leap on this young center.
