Milwaukee Bucks free agent center target No. 3 – Dwight Howard

At 36 years old, Dwight Howard wouldn’t be a long-term signing however the 2004 first overall draft pick can still play a part from the bench. In 60 games this season, Howard averaged 6.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 0.6 assists. Shooting over 61 percent from the field and averaging 16 minutes per game, he’s certainly only a player the Bucks should have a look at.

Howard had a cap hit of $2.6 million this last season which given the fact the Bucks are already committed to $160million for 13 players next season, they will be looking for cheaper veterans to come in and play a role. That’s where Howard comes in. Whilst his numbers don’t rock the box score, he could still give an effective 10-12 minutes of action in which time the likes of Lopez and Portis can rest. Howard has previous experience playing under head coach Mike Budenholzer, as they were together for one season with the Atlanta Hawks, so that could be enticing as well.

Dwight Howard knows that his career is coming to an end so it’s likely he will want a shot at one more ring and Milwaukee is certainly a destination where that is possible. He wouldn’t be my first choice of center to target but I certainly wouldn’t complain about adding him to the roster.
