Milwaukee Bucks Draft Scouting Report: E.J. Liddell – Outlook
E.J. Liddell is a player any team would be happy to have, as he fills the needs of a modern day NBA role player very well, and his floor is very high. He can shoot from the outside and defend very well, and those are two things any NBA team wants in a player. If the Bucks draft him, they’d be getting someone who can produce right away on both ends of the court and is playable in the playoffs, which is about all you can ask for out of a draft pick in the 20s.
The downside to the Bucks drafting Liddell is that he probably doesn’t have the highest ceiling. He isn’t the most athletic player and doesn’t have a ton of one-on-one scoring potential due to his inability to create separation, so he doesn’t bring that shot creation ability that the Bucks might be looking for.
I would be very happy if the Bucks wound up getting E.J. Liddell on draft night because of his high floor and ability to be a playoff rotation piece immediately. He should be a very good role player and his ability to defend any position would make the Bucks even more versatile and increase the amount of options they have on that end. It’s unknown whether he will be available when the Bucks are on the clock with the 24th pick, but he is someone the Bucks should be targeting.
Grade for Bucks: A-
It will be interesting to see if Liddell is still on the board when the Milwaukee Bucks pick 24th.
