Milwaukee Bucks Draft Scouting Report: MarJon Beauchamp – Weaknesses

Outside Shooting/Perimeter Creation

Three-point shooting is definitely the big weakness for MarJon Beauchamp. He shot just 27.3 percent from three in the G League last season and was never able to show consistent shooting results. On the bright side, his form looks solid and he was a pretty good free throw shooter (71.8 percent), so there are signs that point to him potentially becoming an okay shooter. But as of right now, the results aren’t there, and he will need to improve as a shooter and perimeter creator to become a regular rotation player in the NBA.

Playmaking

As smart of a player as Beauchamp is, he is nothing special as a passer. He uses his athleticism to get into the paint and finish, but he is not very good at finding open teammates or creating for others. He averaged just two assists per game in the G League and had almost as many turnovers (46) as assists (49), so he will need to learn how to use his intelligence as a passer to find open guys on the perimeter. He has the ball handling and intelligence to be a passer, he just needs to put it together.
