Milwaukee Bucks Draft Scouting Report: MarJon Beauchamp – Outlook
MarJon Beauchamp is an intriguing prospect with his athleticism, length, IQ, and defense. He is the type of long, athletic wing that every NBA team wants on their roster, and the Bucks could be considering him in order to get more size on the wing. Milwaukee has been lacking a lot of size and athleticism from their wings, and Beauchamp is someone who can provide both.
However, Beauchamp definitely has some things to iron out in his offensive game that turn me off to the Bucks potentially drafting him. His limitations as a three-point shooter and a passer make me question how effective he would be on this Bucks team. He seems like he will need some time to develop some of his finesse game offensively.
I like the physical tools and defense Beauchamp could bring the Bucks on the wing, but I think every player the Bucks acquire needs to at least have some consistent ability to hit shots on the perimeter, and I don’t see that out of Beauchamp right now. It appears he will need a couple of years to develop a perimeter game, and the Bucks cannot live without that right now. I’d prefer the Bucks look elsewhere with the 24th pick, but I also understand if they take Beauchamp hoping he can become a really nice rotation player once his shot develops.
Grade for Milwaukee Bucks: B-
