Monte Morris could be an underrated trade target for the Milwaukee Bucks

Monte Morris is yet another intriguing name for the Milwaukee Bucks to look at. Morris has served as an ideal backup point guard under Jamal Murray with the Denver Nuggets thus far in his career, but he stepped up big time and looked very comfortable handling the ball for Denver. With Murray sidelined this past season, Morris averaged 12.6 points and 4.4 assists per game on 48/39/87 shooting splits.

Now with Jamal Murray returning from injury and the solid play from rookie Bones Hyland, Morris once again goes back to a weird role with the Nuggets. Now could be the time to strike for Milwaukee. Morris would be able to play both guard spots for Milwaukee and offer very complimentary production while doing so.

I have expressed my frustration over the last few years regarding Milwaukee’s backup point guard situations, they just have not been good. Having a guy that can get your offense moving off the bench is key, and Monte Morris is that guy. Morris is on a three-year deal worth $27.7 million that pays him all the way through the 2023-2024 season, so not the most ideal situation financially, but there are most definitely ways to make it work. Out of these three trade targets, this could be the most realistic trade.
