3 Milwaukee Bucks’ trade targets with ties to Jrue Holiday – Buddy Hield
Their time together was short, but Jrue Holiday and Buddy Hield shared the backcourt together as members of the New Orleans Pelicans during the first half of the latter’s rookie season. Since their brief stint together, Hield has rapidly developed into one of the best long distance shooters in this league, which is why the 29-year-old would be the perfect trade target for the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Bucks are always looking to surround Giannis Antetokounmpo with threats on the perimeter, and Hield would immediately be one of the greatest shooters he has played with in his career yet. The marksman has knocked down 39.8 percent of his triples on 7.6 attempts per game during his first six years in the NBA, and those numbers are certainly compelling when thinking about all of the open looks Hield would get playing alongside Antetokounmpo.
The Bucks have brought in an abundance of reputable perimeter shooters over the years, such as Bryn Forbes and Grayson Allen, to sharpen their 3-point shooting, but the addition of Hield would give the Bucks the best shooting guard they have had in many years. After watching Milwaukee struggle to knock down their threes during yet another playoff run, this team needs to go all-in on more long range threats this offseason, and Hield could undoubtedly help tune that up.
Ultimately, many have pegged Hield as nothing more than a pipe dream trade target for the Bucks due to his hefty salary. The two guard is on the books for $20.5 million next season, and matching that salary in any package would be difficult on Milwaukee’s end, although not entirely impossible. With a clear need for more perimeter shooting, the Bucks should call the Indiana Pacers to make a quality offer for one of the league’s best long distance shooters this coming offseason.
Stay tuned to see whether or not the Milwaukee Bucks make a run at any of these trade targets.
