Milwaukee Bucks: 3 low-risk, high-reward free agents to pursue

2. Thaddeus Young

Another veteran forward, Thaddeus Young could be an option for the Milwaukee Bucks to pursue in free agency this offseason. Young will be entering his 15th season in the league and should be looking to join a title contender as an accomplished player that hasn’t won a ring yet.

The 33-year-old has career averages of 12.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game on 50.2 percent field goals and 33.2 percent shooting from beyond the arc across 1,085 games. Young has had a boatload of playoff experience with Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Indiana, and most recently Toronto this past season.

Evidently, Young is an experienced veteran with more production left in the tank and could be a solid addition to Milwaukee’s frontcourt depth. If he’s willing to take a pay cut like previous winning-minded guys have done to join the Bucks, he could be a much-needed low-risk, high-reward signing.

Thaddeus Young would mostly offer versatile defense to the Bucks and could provide essential small-ball units when needed. He’s not the best fit offensively, but he’s always been a crafty scorer and playing under head coach Mike Budenholzer’s system could unlock improved efficiency from 3-point range. Young would easily be worth signing to a low-cost deal.
