Royce O’Neale could be a trade target for the Milwaukee Bucks

Just like he was with Alec Burks, Grayson Allen was teammates with Royce O’Neale as members of the Utah Jazz. Trade rumors have been swirling in Utah that they could be looking to shake up their roster following their first round playoff exit, and if so, the Milwaukee Bucks should pick up the phone and inquire about O’Neale’s availability immediately.

Several fans have mentioned O’Neale as the ideal trade target for the Bucks this offseason, and that could very well be true. The 29-year-old would check off several boxes on Milwaukee’s end, giving them a 6-foot-4 forward that can bring some versatility into the mix, play robust defense, knock down triples, and make all the hustle plays. Due to those attributes, O’Neale could be a key piece for the Bucks when they go to those smaller lineups, as he could certainly make them more formidable. He would be a seamless fit alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and the rest of this Milwaukee roster, giving them a player that is just what they lacked last season.

Financially, O’Neale is also a relatively affordable target for the Bucks to pursue, as he is set to make $9.2 million next season. That is within Milwaukee’s range and a reasonable salary when assessing what he could bring to this team. It remains to be seen whether or not the Jazz would be willing to entertain offers for the forward, given how crucial he has been for them over these past few years, but that should not stop Jon Horst and the Bucks from trying.
