Milwaukee Bucks Draft Scouting Report: Nikola Jovic – Outlook
Nikola Jovic is an intriguing player for many teams because of his potential versatility on both ends. He is 6’10” with very good handles and runs the floor very well, which is the type of player who interests anyone. The Bucks could potentially get a good shot creator and passer who can be a matchup nightmare if he pans out.
The issue is that Jovic is a work in progress with his shooting and defense, and those are two things the Bucks need out of pretty much any player who steps on the court for them. Jovic has the potential to develop those areas, but is not very good in them right now.
Because of his inability to give the Bucks much shooting or defense right now, Jovic is not my favorite pick for the Bucks. He likely cannot contribute much for them in the playoffs in the next couple years, and I believe the Bucks need to get someone who is playable right now in a playoff series. Not to say Jovic doesn’t have potential, but he doesn’t really fit the Bucks’ timeline.
