Milwaukee Bucks Draft Scouting Report – Patrick Baldwin Jr. – Outlook
Patrick Baldwin Jr. is an intriguing prospect because in theory he can be a really good scorer and he showed that in high school. He was one of the top recruits in the nation and a projected top ten pick in the draft before last season, so looking at where he is projected now, this could be good value to get him in the late first round or even the second round.
However, there are reasons he has fallen so far and is no longer a top ten pick. Baldwin had a disastrous season last year with the combination of not staying healthy and producing almost no results on the court. As a result, really nothing about his game is proven at this point, and it is all just hypotheticals based on his size and what he did in high school, which is obviously a completely different level of competition than the NBA.
I personally want the Bucks to stay away from Patrick Baldwin Jr. He looks very slow and bad defensively, and nothing about his offensive game is proven. He also has an injury history and did not make his team better at all last season like he was expected to. There are so many red flags, this seems like a worst-case scenario pick for the Bucks.
Grade for Milwaukee Bucks: D
