Archetypes the Milwaukee Bucks should target: The Athletic Big Wing

The first player archetype on this list is the athletic big wing. Athletic big wings are typified by guys like Kawhi Leonard or Mikal Bridges, who offer so much by sheer virtue of the size and speed advantage they offer over smaller guards and bigger forwards. The chances that someone as impactful as those two mentioned will fall to pick 24 are slim, but it is still possible to find a player who fits a similar mold at that spot.

As for the Bucks, their lack of big wing depth reared its ugly head when Khris Middleton went down with a knee injury during the first round against the Bulls. The Bucks suddenly found themselves bereft of guys who could at least bother Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown in the second round. When you have a fanbase debating whether to put Jevon Carter or George Hill on 6’8″ Jayson Tatum, you know you have a problem.

While this is by no means an exhaustive list, here are a few guys who could fit into this crucial archetype in the coming seasons:

  • Ochai Agbaji – 6’6″ G, Kansas
  • Tari Eason – 6’8″ F, LSU
  • Kendall Brown – 6’7″ F, Baylor
  • Christian Braun – 6’7″ G, Kansas
  • MarJon Beauchamp – 6’6″ G, G League Ignite
