Trade Up Candidates for the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2022 NBA Draft

The Bucks are rumored to be one of the teams interested in trading up to the 14th pick. If they do trade up, here are some guys I like.

Jalen Williams (Wing – Santa Clara)

Ht: 6’6″ | Wt: 200 lbs | 51/40/81 shooting

Williams is a smooth scorer and elite spot up shooter who can also pass and play like a point guard. He also has a crazy 7’2″ wingspan that makes him a very versatile defender potentially. Could be the steal of the draft with a high floor and high ceiling, and he checks the boxes of the Bucks’ needs of playmaking, shooting, and wing size all in one prospect.

Malaki Branham (Guard – Ohio State)

Ht: 6’5″ | Wt: 180 lbs | 50/42/83 shooting

This could be the next Khris Middleton. He is great at scoring in the midrange and a really good on catch-and-shoot threes. He’s not the quickest guy and is only a decent defender (just like Khris), but his scoring and shooting ability makes him a really good prospect.

Ochai Agbaji (Wing – Kansas)

Ht: 6’5″ | Wt: 215 lbs | 48/41/74 shooting

Agbaji has one of the higher floors in this draft class and is the ideal 3-and-D role player for the modern NBA. He is an elite spot up shooter, excellent defender, and has a lot of athleticism. He’d be able to contribute immediately for the Bucks and help them a lot.

AJ Griffin (Wing – Duke)

Ht: 6’6″ | Wt: 220 lbs | 49/45/79 shooting

Extremely talented scorer and shooter who can hit catch-and-shoot jumpers or score off the dribble very well with a variety of moves. Although he isn’t the greatest defender right now, his length and strength give him upside on that end. He’s an elite talent but could fall to the late lottery because of injury history.

TyTy Washington Jr. (Guard – Kentucky)

Ht: 6’3″ | Wt: 200 lbs | 45/35/75 shooting

Very good point guard prospect who can make any pass, has a nice midrange game, can hit catch-and-shoot threes, and plays hard on defense. Bucks need another ball handler and could even begin to experiment with TyTy at point guard and Jrue at shooting guard some.

Tari Eason (Forward – LSU)

Ht: 6’8″ | Wt: 220 lbs | 52/36/80 shooting

Impactful defender with the ability to guard multiple positions. Offensively, he excels in transition and driving to the hoop with his length and crazy athleticism. On top of that, he has become a good shooter and cannot be left alone, so he seems to have a high floor with his shooting and defense but also a high ceiling because of his athleticism.

Mark Williams (Big – Duke)

Ht: 7’0″ | Wt: 240 lbs | 72/0/73 shooting

Tremendous rim protector with a 7’7″ wingspan and great athleticism for a big, which helps him offensively as a finisher as well. He has a high floor with his length and defensive ability, and his ceiling could be very high because his free throw shooting and limited sample size of jumpers show he has pretty good touch on his shot. The shooting will need time to develop, but if it does he could be amazing and the big man of the future for the Bucks.
