Milwaukee Bucks Draft Scouting Report: Justin Lewis – Weaknesses

Too Calm On Defense At Times

Justin Lewis’ biggest weakness right now is he becomes a bit too calm on defense at times. Some scouts are calling it laziness, while others are saying he’s just not that great of a defender at the moment. Either way, if he wants to play for the Bucks, he’s going to have to be better defensively, specifically on the perimeter.

He had some positives this year in terms of guarding in the post, but the perimeter is where he needs some work.

Shot Selection

Although his shooting splits weren’t bad this season, his shot selection is often something that’s become an issue for many. He’s typically at his best when he’s going to the basket, but he can also hit the three-point shot at an above-average clip. There are times when he becomes a bit too jump-shot dependent.

It shouldn’t be too big of a concern for the Bucks, however, considering that if he ever got real minutes, he wouldn’t be taking shots away from Giannis, Khris, or Jrue.

Jordan Nwora had a tendency of this when he first joined the Bucks, but the shot selection has gotten better and perhaps that will lead to more minutes for him in the future.
