The verdict on Bleacher Report’s Bojan Bogdanovic trade for Milwaukee Bucks

It seems likely that the Milwaukee Bucks would rather stand pat than make this proposed trade.

Though Bojan Bogdanovic is a fine player and someone who could address some holes currently on the roster, it is quite unlikely he is someone the front office would part ways with Brook Lopez and one of their lone first round picks over the next decade to acquire. Despite his injury that cost him most of last season, Lopez was a significant contributor throughout Milwaukee’s title run just over a year ago, and he could help the team in their quest to get back there when he is healthy.

At this point, it seems far more likely that the Bucks would extend Lopez’s contract this offseason rather than trade him. General manager Jon Horst made it clear that he is still a firm believer in the impact that Lopez has on this team, as he raved about him during his end-of-the-year meeting with reporters in June. The big man is a great fit on this team, and he has clearly bought into what he is asked to do on a nightly basis, and replacing him would be a challenge for the Bucks.

Even looking beyond this deal, it would be hard to envision the Bucks making a trade before next season begins. Rarely was everyone on the roster healthy simultaneously last season, so it would not be far-fetched for the front office to want to see everyone on the court healthy before making any decisions about trades. Perhaps it will be a different discussion when the trade deadline is on the horizon, but for now, the roster will likely not change too drastically anytime soon.

Stay tuned to see if the Milwaukee Bucks make any moves, particularly trades, this offseason.
