Burning questions for Milwaukee Bucks media day: Will there be any discussion of Khris Middleton’s contract?

Having just examined this situation yesterday, Khris Middleton has said more than once that he wants to remain a Milwaukee Buck multiple times. A partial quote coming from an interview Khris Middleton did with Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is causing some Milwaukee Bucks fans some concern. Will Jon Horst or Khris Middleton discuss what the plan is for discussing a contract extension for Middleton or will they wait until next summer when Khris can either accept or decline his player option for next year?

Certainly age is a factor with Khris, but then again, Jrue Holiday was extended last April, just months before his 31st birthday. Khris Middleton, just over a month ago, turned 31. Not only that, but it has been widely discussed that the absence of Khris Middleton from the Bucks’ series with the Boston Celtics, could have swayed that series in Milwaukee’s favor.

Age is becoming less of a concern in the NBA, especially for players with offensive skill, LeBron James is still a premier player in the NBA despite the fact that he will be 38 before the year is out. Kevin Durant is set to turn 34 next week, the late Kobe Bryant played until he was 37. Obviously these three players are extreme examples of world class basketball players, but there is really no reason to believe Khris Middleton couldn’t continue his career into his late 30s given the fact that athleticism has never really been the name of his game.
