While it may not have been as eventful as past offseasons, the Milwaukee Bucks made plenty of moves throughout the 2022 NBA offseason.

The front office wasted no time getting busy via free agency and the 2022 NBA Draft, bringing in a handful of new players while retaining some familiar faces. The team had some glaring holes that needed to be addressed, and general manager Jon Horst did a solid job of trying to utilize what assets the team had to tend to them. Excluding training camp deals and other non-guaranteed contracts, let us rank all of Milwaukee’s 2022 offseason decisions.

Ranking the Milwaukee Bucks’ offseason moves – 10. Drafting Hugo Besson in the second round

When the 2022 NBA Draft started, the Milwaukee Bucks did not have a second round pick due to previous tampering violations. However, they made a trade with the Indiana Pacers to secure the 58th overall pick, which they used to select Hugo Besson. The guard has spent his career playing overseas to this point, and per The Athletic’s Eric Nehm, Milwaukee’s plan is currently to have the second round pick stay overseas and not have him on the roster this season.

Despite the Bucks reportedly looking to stash Besson overseas this season, they brought him in for the 2022 Summer League to get a better look at him. Besson struggled in his limited action as he totaled 10 points on 3-of-16 field goal shooting, including 2-of-12 from deep in 45 minutes of action, which was not too promising, though Summer League performance is not the end all be all. At 21 years old, Besson has plenty of room to develop, and drafting him seems like a move to add a youthful piece that can grow over time.

Considering that he likely will not suit up for the Bucks this season, barring an unforeseen change, the addition of Besson will not have a major impact on the team. It was a low-risk move to bring in a talented young piece that could potentially become a player down the line, which is justifiable as the Bucks look to shore up their youth. For now, he won’t be with the team this season, so putting him anywhere else on this list wouldn’t feel quite right.
