3 takeaways from Milwaukee Bucks’ win over Houston Rockets
By Lucas Valind
The Milwaukee Bucks played their home opener on Saturday night against the Houston Rockets. The game was never that close, as the Bucks dominated for much of the night en route to a 125-105 win.
After going 0-5 and struggling for much of the preseason, the Bucks look to be back to themselves to start their regular season campaign. The team is 2-0 to start the regular season after Saturday night’s win. Here are the three biggest takeaways from Saturday night’s win in particular.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo is the best player in the NBA
There’s been much debate recently about who the best player in the NBA is. Giannis Antetokounmpo’s name has appeared in a lot of those arguments.
Antetokounmpo was so dominant last night that it almost wanted to make you laugh. After not being aggressive in the team’s season opener against Philadelphia, Antetokounmpo found himself asserting himself much more and playing some sort of bully ball against Houston. Antetokounmpo finished with 44 points and 12 rebounds. He even finished through contact seven times for and-ones.
The most impressive thing about Antetokounmpo’s performance last night was his efficiency. He got whatever he wanted and finished with a 17-21 outing from the field and 2-3 from the outside. When you factor in his efficiency with the fact that he only played 28 minutes to get those numbers, Antetokounmpo’s dominance is much more impressive.
Whether or not you believe Antetokounmpo is the singular best player in the league is up to you. However, there is no denying that he is one of the game’s elite players, with how he has continued to perform consistently over the last few seasons.
