Better target for the Milwaukee Bucks, Jae Crowder or Bojan Bogdanovic?

Why Jae Crowder would be a good fit with the Milwaukee Bucks

Milwaukee doesn’t necessarily need a shooter to win a title. At the 2021 trade deadline, Milwaukee traded for P.J. Tucker, who was not known as a high-volume offensive player.

Getting Crowder would add another great defender to Milwaukee’s roster.

The cost to get Crowder would be cheaper than Bogdanovic. The Bucks, Suns, and Rockets were reportedly involved in discussions regarding Crowder, but Houston wanted more drafted compensation, according to Matt Moore of the Action Network.

Crowder last season had a 105.9 defensive rating, which shows he can still defend at an elite level, and his offensive rating was 116.1 (the league average was 112.0). His offensive game can be hot and cold, but he wouldn’t be acquired for his offensive output.

When Milwaukee won the title in the 2020-21 season, they only shot 32.3 percent from three. Milwaukee doesn’t need to add another shooter to solidify their chances of winning a title because acquiring a defensive-minded guy like P.J. Tucker helped Milwaukee win a championship.

There are downsides to a potential deal. Crowder doesn’t fix our outside shooting woes. Throughout his career, Crowder has been a streaky shooter, and it feels like the current 3-point shooters on the Bucks are streaky shooters, so why add another one to the mix?

Milwaukee might not need another defensive-minded player because they are a solid team defensively, and adding Crowder wouldn’t fix our problems offensively because that problem can’t be fixed until Khris Middleton comes back.

As mentioned at the top, Crowder hasn’t played for several months, and if acquired by Milwaukee, you’d assume there would be a ramp-up stage involved too. How Jae Crowder looks coming back is my main question whenever he sees the court again.
