The Milwaukee Bucks have been rumored in plenty of trades throughout the past few months and one team that seems to be a partner is the New York Knicks. New reports have surfaced saying the Bucks and Knicks are looking to make a deal. Grayson Allen trades have been a hot topic, so it’s time to start thinking about if the Knicks could be a suitor.

Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported that the Knicks are interested in a trade for Grayson Allen. Allen is the Bucks’ biggest trade chip unless they go in a direction that many aren’t expecting. They could trade Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis, or even Khris Middleton, but that wouldn’t make much sense from their perspective. Allen is the one player that seems tradeable that teams could be interested in and his contract could help finish some of these deals.

There have been reports that the Bucks are interested in Cam Reddish. A Reddish and Grayson Allen deal straight up would work, but again, why would the Bucks trade the better player and just get Reddish in return?

Trading with the Knicks gets tough when it comes to salary matching. Due to that, there’s really only about one trade that the Bucks should think about making. Let’s dive into three trades the Bucks and Knicks could make, despite only one of them being a positive for Milwaukee.

Trade No. 1 between the Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks

Because this is a possibility now that both teams have been linked to rumors about having an interest in these players, it’s something that should be talked about.

Allen hasn’t had his best season with Milwaukee, especially on the defensive side of the basketball. Bucks fans want Allen traded because of his defensive liabilities in a series against the Brooklyn Nets and Kevin Durant or the Boston Celtics and Jayson Tatum.

Cam Reddish only played in 20 games for the Knicks this season. He is shooting just 30.4 percent from 3-point range and has not necessarily shown that he’s a lockdown defender.

Going after Reddish isn’t a bad idea from the Bucks’ perspective. However, that’s a deal that they need to throw in a player like Jordan Nwora or George Hill with a second-round pick to complete.

Whether Bucks fans want to hear it or not, Allen is simply a better player than Reddish at this point of their careers, and trading them straight up would make the Bucks worse.
