A Serge Ibaka trade between the Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets

How desperate is Brooklyn for a big man that can defend the rim? Nic Claxton has emerged as a strong defensive player this season, but is it enough for them to stop Giannis or Embiid in the playoffs?

Ibaka certainly won’t slow those guys down. However, this gives the Nets some flexibility in terms of keeping Claxton out of foul trouble and also having someone that can be a big body for a few minutes in a playoff game. If Claxton ever sustained some sort of injury, even if minor, the Nets don’t have a backup that can do any sort of job.

Still, the idea of them trading Seth Curry doesn’t seem too likely. Curry has played well this season, averaging 10.2 points per game and shooting an efficient 41.5% from three-point range on high volume.

The Nets do have other players that can step into his role, so seeing him traded wouldn’t be too surprising. However, this type of deal doesn’t seem too likely unless they think Ibaka can help and Grayson can fill the void for Curry. If this is a deal that does somehow become available, it would be tough to see the Bucks deny it. Curry and Allen are shooting similarly in terms of percentages, but there’s no denying that Seth is a much better creator for himself.
