The latest on the Milwaukee Bucks’ persistent pursuit of Jae Crowder

The Bucks have been linked to Jae Crowder for what seems like an eternity – in reality, it has been several months. While several teams have registered interest in Crowder, none have been making an effort to get him like Milwaukee. Per The Athletic’s Shams Charania (Subscription required), the Bucks recently had a meeting with Crowder and have been the only team to do so.

On top of that, the insider revealed that Milwaukee’s current offer is George Hill, Jordan Nwora, Serge Ibaka, and second round draft capital. The current hold-up in a trade is that Phoenix wants to rope in a third team to get them some more assets. By all accounts, the Bucks seem to be the frontrunners for Crowder, but anything can happen between now and the deadline buzzer.

Many teams have registered interest in Milwaukee Bucks’ center Serge Ibaka

It would not too surprising when Serge Ibaka requested a trade from the Bucks in January, as he had not been getting meaningful playing time at all this season. The veteran wants to go play for another team, and Milwaukee is bound to oblige him. According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, three teams that have shown interest in Ibaka are the Nets, Heat, and Hawks. Sam Amico of Hoops Wire added that the Clippers and Wizards are also interested.

Right now, it seems like the Bucks will look to package Ibaka in a bigger trade. After all, he was a rumored piece in that aforementioned trade package for Crowder. Doing so would make sense, as Ibaka alone would not command much more than cash considerations or a second round pick. He is almost certainly going to get traded before Thursday’s deadline, the only question is where and for what exactly.
