3 post trade deadline buyout targets for the Milwaukee Bucks to monitor – Will Barton
There have been some rumors surrounding Will Barton on the verge of finding a change of scenery for a few weeks now. The Ringer’s Chris Vernon recently said on an episode of The Mismatch that if Barton is bought out by the Washington Wizards, the Bucks and Brooklyn Nets are two teams to keep an eye on. The Nets have undergone some seismic roster reconstruction since that rumor first surfaced, which included moving their two best players, so the Bucks may have a better shot.
Barton has not done much with the Wizards this season, largely due to an inconsistent role, but the appeal is clear for the Bucks. The veteran is a 6-foot-6 swingman who would give the Bucks another wing who can score the basketball well. In eight seasons with the Denver Nuggets, the veteran averaged 14 points while shooting 36.2 percent from three. His defense might not be anything to write home about, but there is no doubt that Barton could give this team a boost on the offensive end.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported shortly after the deadline that the Wizards and Barton are working toward a buyout, so he should be on the market soon. Once that is official, the Bucks could very well make a run at him.
Stay tuned to see what the Milwaukee Bucks do in the buyout market in the coming days.
