3 Milwaukee Bucks with something to prove down the stretch in 2023 – Grayson Allen

When the season started, I didn’t think I would be including Grayson Allen on this list. Allen has been great this year for the Bucks, averaging 10.5 points per game and shooting 40.4 percent from three. When the trade deadline came around, it seemed like everyone had a situation where Allen got traded. There were talks of a Cam Reddish trade, including him in the Crowder deal, and many fans calling for different deals.

Grayson Allen has a reputation from college that followed him to the NBA and has turned a lot of fans against him, despite leaving his past behaviors at Duke. It seems like since trade talks began, a lot of Bucks fans were content with seeing him go. Of the 56 games that Allen has played this season, he has started 54 and has been a staple of the starting five rotation this whole season. Especially in a season where Khris Middleton has only played 19 games thus far, Allen has stepped up in a major way.

The fact of the matter is, Grayson Allen has been playing at a high level since he signed with the Bucks before the 2021-2022 season and is likely going to continue to contribute. By proving himself with a couple of big performances, Allen’s value could finally get the recognition it deserves heading into the playoffs.
