2. Dallas Mavericks

One of the biggest issues with the Mavericks last season was their complete lack of defense. How could they fix this? By throwing a 35-year-old center who was just in contention for D.P.O.Y. a massive contract, of course!

In all seriousness, the Mavericks are slated to have around $21 million in cap space next season. Who knows if this would be enough to sign Lopez, but they can easily clear out more cap space by attaching picks to bad contracts like Davis Bertans and Tim Hardaway Jr.

Adding Lopez to this Mavericks team next to Luka Doncic would not only play a massive role in fixing their defensive problems, but it would be pretty fun to watch from an unbiased point of view. Dallas has been trying to add a great big man to their roster for quite some time now, so it wouldn’t surprise us at all to see them go all in on adding Lopez to their roster.

Obviously, the Mavericks, even with Lopez, won’t be nearly as good of a team as the Bucks, but a big-time bag could potentially persuade Lopez to leave Milwaukee and start a new chapter of his career as he comes closer to retirement.
