After two years with the Charlotte Hornets, 27-year-old Kelly Oubre Jr. is set to hit the free agent market and will have plenty of suitors. Prior to signing that deal with Charlotte, Milwaukee had an interest in signing Oubre in 2021, per SNY’s Ian Begley. With Oubre on the market again, it could be time for the Milwaukee Bucks to reignite that interest.

There are questions as to what the Bucks’ wing rotation will look like next season. Veteran guard Wesley Matthews is 36, and there is no telling what he may do next. Jae Crowder talked about how he wasn’t sure of his purpose in Milwaukee because the team did not use him much after acquiring him, so it seems like he could possibly leave as he hits free agency. Grayson Allen and Pat Connaughton are also not safe from being traded. In short, the Bucks may need more wings, and Oubre fits the mold.

Oubre is coming off arguably his best season as a professional, having averaged 20.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. In addition to being a solid scorer and rebounder, the 6-foot-7 wing can defend a slew of different positions. To be clear, the forward is not a seamless fit, as his outside shooting can be incredibly hit or miss, but given his defense and age, he’s just what this team is potentially going to be seeking in the off-season.
