Milwaukee Bucks’ wing targets in 2023 NBA Free Agency – Yuta Watanabe

The second wing the Bucks should target is a very cheap option but showed last season showed glimpses of real quality on the Brooklyn Nets. Yuta Watanabe turns 29 early this season and will improve the athleticism of the roster, and that is another element of the team that Milwaukee needs to improve on.

In 58 games in Brooklyn, he did only average 5.6 points but was 49 percent from the field and shot 44 percent from three on 2.5 attempts per game. Those stats won’t jump off the page but shows he can still have an impact on the game, and having a high-percentage shooter is always ideal when Giannis Antetokounmpo is attracting attention in the paint.

The reason I picked out Watanabe as a target is due to his performances early on last season when Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were still on the Nets’ roster. He had 13 games with 10 points or more in his first 41 games and quickly became a vital piece in the Nets’ strong start to the season. Watanabe may not be the biggest name to add to the roster, but he can certainly be effective for the Bucks as a lethal perimeter shooter.
