Grade The Trade: Bucks add 2 former All-Stars in deal with Timberwolves

The verdict on this deal between the Bucks and Timberwolves
This deal between the Milwaukee Bucks and Minnesota Timberwolves will certainly not happen, but I will never fault someone for dreaming big.
The idea of adding a 27-year-old three-time All-Star and a seasoned veteran point guard is very intriguing, but the questions about fit are too great. The Antetokounmpo-Towns-Lopez grouping would be an unheard-of experiment in today’s NBA, and it would be beyond risky. On top of that, he’s about to be making $55 annually once his current deal expires next season. Sheesh.
Now, this deal would possibly be more intriguing if it involved Brook Lopez in one way or another. Though they just handed him a new deal, Lopez is nearing 36 years old, and the team will have to find a replacement down the line. Towns could be a long-term option at center, but bringing him to Milwaukee with Lopez in town would not make too much sense from a fit or financial standpoint.
The Bucks would also be giving up a lot in this trade. While no one aside from Giannis should be an untouchable piece in trade discussions, Towns and Conely are not the players to give up four major contributors for. If the Bucks will make a significant splash through trade, they should wait to see what other household names become available.
