9. Jevon Carter

Carter has bounced around the league after being a second-round pick in 2018. He will play for his fifth team in six years this fall after joining the Bulls on a three-year $19.5 million contract in free agency.

He arrived in Milwaukee in February 2022 just days after being waived by the Nets. The 6’1 guard is known for playing hard-nosed defense, but his offensive game is questionable. He can make some plays, but not enough to be a true point guard. Carter is a strong 3-point shooter, but his overall efficiency leaves plenty to be desired.

He made 39 starts for the Bucks in the 2022-23 season over his 81 games played. The 6’1 guard averaged 8.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 0.8 steals in 22.3 minutes per game. Those are not starter numbers. Carter’s minutes dipped in the playoffs and his only starting gig came from the Bucks. The 28-year-old has opened 48 of his 304 games played and 41 of those were for Milwaukee.

Jevon Carter is not a starting guard in the NBA, but the Milwaukee Bucks did not want to lose him. They need any talent they can get around Giannis Antetokounmpo. Carter is a serviceable backup, but his increased role earns him a place on this list.
