5. Jerryd Bayless

Bayless had already played six years in the NBA before arriving in Milwaukee. The 6’3 guard had only made 59 starts in his first 381 games. The 6’3 guard was a subpar defender known for his ability to make shots and be a secondary creator.

The Bucks won just 15 games in 2014, which remains their fewest in franchise history. They needed more talent, and Bayless was intrigued by playing for then-head coach Jason Kidd. He signed a two-year deal worth $6 million and was inconsistent in Milwaukee.

Bayless shot just 30.8 percent from 3-point range in year one and struggled mightily defensively. He became a key veteran in year two and made 43.7 percent on his long-range attempts. It allowed him to earn 18 starts and take over as the nominal point guard with Giannis doing the majority of the playmaking.

Bayless played three more years after leaving Milwaukee where he saw 20-25 minutes per game coming off the bench. He played his final NBA game in 2019 at the age of 30.

Jerryd Bayless was not an NBA starter. He opened 22 games for the Milwaukee Bucks but was best suited as a floor-spacing reserve. The 6’3 guard struggled on defense and was inconsistent, which earned him a place as one of the worst starters around Giannis Antetokounmpo.
